Reuter Center Singers

When we are able to gather at the Reuter Center, performance groups comprise a unique component of OLLI’s community spirit.  When we are able to gather in person, the Reuter Center Singers’  schedule includes a Fall and Spring Concert plus other community performances.

New Reuter Center Singers are always welcomed with no audition needed ever!  Come join the fun! when we are able to gather again.

With more than 20 years as a singing organization, community and partnership have defined the Reuter Center Singers from the beginning.  They perform music ranging from Bach to the Beatles and beyond.  The Singers’ very first season began an unbroken tradition of participating in civic events to engage the communities in which they live. The Reuter Center Singers perform in ceremonies  honoring our veterans, installation of UNC Asheville leaders, memorializing our dead, and celebrating our achievements.  Music is a vehicle drawing us together, and singing provides many benefits for the performers and the audience.

Directed by Chuck Taft, the group studies and performs classical, popular, show tunes and other favorites. When we are able to gather safely The Singers rehearse weekly on Monday evenings from 6:15-8:15 p.m. and perform regionally.  To find out more about the current plans of the group, contact Kathie Nelson, 828.222.2220 or kwnelson@charter.net.  A fee of $50 is collected by the Singers for each term in August and January, and OLLI membership is required to participate.
